Researchers, policymakers, community educators, and youth organizations will gather for a national conference on June 10-13, 2004 in Seattle, Washington
The 13th Annual CTCNet Conference will be held from June 10th - 13th, 2004 in Seattle, Washington. The conference will explore emerging themes under the larger framework of community building and its relevance for community technology centers as they engage and connect diverse communities to effect positive change. Below is a listing of presentations that EDC staff members will take part in.

Curriculum
Development for Youth Technology Programs: the YouthLearn Method

Facilitated by the YouthLearn Initiative, this day long pre-conference workshop
will be an exploration of the benefits of project-based, technology-infused
youth programming and a forum for peer-to-peer dialogue around effective after-school
curriculum.
ScienceQuest:
Successful After-School Learning

Thursday, June 10, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
ScienceQuest works with CTCs and other after school programs, providing them
with a process to lead explorations for 10-14 year olds. The workshop provides
tools for coaches (volunteers or staff) to lead small teams of youth as they
explore science related topics over 15 weeks.

This panel discussion will bring together both moderators of and participants
in various online communities to discuss how virtual community spaces have
been used to support the work of CTCs, and how they can more effectively support
information sharing and professional development.

and Strategies for Working with Limited Literacy/English Proficient Adults

This session will provide community technology practitioners with an opportunity
to discuss and share resources on how to work with adults who present literacy
problems. It will include examples of good resources and methods for working
with low literacy adults, cases of CTCs with good programs in this area, and
some discussion of developing strategic partnerships with adult education providers.

for Evaluating Complex and Diverse CTC Programs: Lessons from the Field

In this session common evaluation challenges in working with complex, diverse
community technology programs, and describe strategies for meeting those challenges
